The Rice Lodge is a two-story hospital building built in 1929 which has been completely renovated. Enjoy lots of history in modern comfort! Each of the 10 bedrooms has its own private bath. The Lodge can sleep up to 26 people in beds. The meeting room can hold about 25 people.
The Lodge is operated by volunteers of the community!
Our Story
In 2008 the State Bank of Odell donated the Rice Hospital to the Odell Community Foundation so tax deductible donations could be collected to renovate the dilapidated building. The Odell Community Foundation then donated the building to the Village of Odell so the restoration committee could apply for grants. The Village of Odell currently owns the Rice Lodge, however, no village funds have ever been used to benefit the renovation or pay for operation of the Lodge. The income from reservations pays the bills and the Lodge is self-sustaining. All profit is put towards upkeep and continued renovations. Over 100 volunteers donated their time to help with the restoration. Today, the Rice Lodge is run by volunteers.
